Our christmas assignment was to make our own journey through cinema short film, based off Martin Scorcese's Personal Journey Through American Cinema. To gather ideas of what to include in my film, I wrote lists of my favourite films, genres, first film experiences and my current and past interests within film. I knew I wanted to be an editor and so I decided to choose some films that I admire the editing style of; Scott Pilgrim vs the world and Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy are two that I love the style of as they are very self conscious.
I knew my film journey started with Harry Potter which is why I started my film with it. Harry potter is the reason why I am so interested in film, it allowed me to experience a new world for the first time ever. I also decided to include clips of me speaking to the camera to give it more of a personal feel and to allow the audience to feel my passion.
