Mary Poppins

After a 20 year struggle Walt Disney finally managed to gain the rights to make the film Mary Poppins. The film was release in 1964 and includes a mixture of green screen shots, live action and animation, which for the time was done very well.

As you can see the edges of the live action characters in this short are surrounded by a black line which is caused by the green screen key not being very good, as they didn't have the technology to blend the front and back layers together on the edges like we do now. However I think the combination of live action and animation is done very well as they stand out from the background even when that is drawn too.
