Chase Scenes

The task was to find and chase scene from a film each and then get together in groups and too choose which one was the best and explain why;

Our group chose the chase scene in Hot Fuzz as our best one.


We chose this one because we liked the fast clips added together, we also like how the music helped to build a sense of false drama. The chase sequence also had a story line of it own, it wasn't just a straight foreword chase, there was a "Dilemma" which was more comical than an actual dilemma but broke down the scene. Comedy was used a lot during this chase sequence as a break down of just running from puns to physical gags. This scene like the rest of Hot Fuzz is shot very self consciously, making the audience appreciate its unique visual style. We particularly liked the dramatic shots of the eyes at the beginning and this is something we are going to replicate in our task this week which is too shoot a chase scene on our mobile phones.
