My Film Reproduction

The brief for this assignment is as follows;

• Re-edit a feature film to tell the narrative in 4 minutes.
• All footage should be taken from the original film.
• All titles and graphics must be created in Photoshop and After Effects.
• The film needs to have title sequence
• In Groups of no more than 4 Students per film

And it is going to be marked according to these things;

• Accuracy of narrative – 20%
• Pace reflecting narrative – 20%
• Graphics 10%

Alice In Wonderland (2010) is the film chosen to re-edit for this assignment as it has key easy to remember events that can be isolated and but together. The characters within this film are vibrant to make the four minute version constantly interesting and keeping the audience sutured.

The first of the key points in the film that are going to be in the re-edit are:

• Falling down the hole
• Drinking the shrinking potion
• Eating the growing cake
• Meeting Absolem
• Finding out about the Frabjous Day
• The Bandersnatch attack
• Tweedledum and Tweedledee are take away by the red queens JubJub bird

For the titles numerous things have been researched and it has been decided that there is going to be a pocket watch swinging back and forth on top of a colourful tunnel which represents the hole that alice falls down in the film. The titles are going to appear as the watch swings back and forth disappearing as it swings back. At the moment research is being done into how do this effectively as using line sweep doesn't look as good as could do. Here is the draft so far:
